The Joy of Serving Others

The Joy of Serving Others
Pastor John DuBall
”Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year
there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen
tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you
boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.
If anyone, then, knows the good
they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”

James 4:13-17

What Do You Really Want?

Message given Sunday, November 15, 2020
What Do You Really Want?
Pastor John DuBall
”What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from
your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you
kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight.
You do not have because you do not ask God.
When you ask, you do not
receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what
you get on your pleasures.”
James 4:1-10

What Kind of Wisdom Do You Want?

Message given Sunday, November 8, 2020
What Kind of Wisdom Do You Want?
Pastor John DuBall
”But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;
then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy
and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who
sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness”
James 3;13-19; 1:5-8

What Is Your Faith Doing?

Message given Sunday, November 1, 2020
What Is Your Faith Doing?
Pastor John DuBall
”But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you
my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God.
Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”

James 2:14-26

What Love Looks Like

Message given Sunday, October 25, 2020
What Love Looks Like
Pastor John DuBall
”My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.
Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man
in filthy old clothes also comes in.
If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes
and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the
floor by my feet,”
have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?”
James 2:1-13

Your Words Matter!

Your Words Matter!
Pastor John DuBall
”Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers,
because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what
they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.”
James 1:26-27; 3:1-12

Listening AND Doing!
Pastor John DuBall
”My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be
quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because
human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”

How Do I Handle Both Trails & Temptations?

Message given Sunday, October 4, 2020
How Do I Handle Both Trails & Temptations?
Pastor John DuBall
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.”
For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their
own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived,
it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

James 1:9-18

How Do I Gain More Wisdom?

Message given Sunday, September 27, 2020
How Do I Gain More Wisdom?
Pastor John DuBall
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,
who gives generously to all without finding fault,
and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you
must believe and not doubt, because the
one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown
and tossed by the wind.
That person should not expect
to receive anything from the Lord.”
James 1:5-7
