NewDay Friends,

This Sunday we gather in a new place to draw close to God together! One of the key questions that our leaders at NewDay have been asking is “what do we want to experience when we come together each week for our Sunday morning gathering time?”

1.. We want to seek God with all our heart as we listen and pray together. (James 4:2-3)

We resonate with a prayer Thomas Aquinas said each day... “Grant me, O Lord my God, a mind to know you, a heart to seek you, wisdom to find you, conduct pleasing to you, faithful perseverance in waiting for you, and a hope of finally embracing you. Amen.”

2. We want to be changed & equipped by His Word & His presence.

We desire, as committed followers of Jesus, to have His presence (the Holy Spirit) so transform our lives that a watching world would catch a glimpse of God’s character – His love, justice, and mercy – through our words, actions, and behavior. We want to fully equip every follower of Jesus so they might experience the full extent of the joy He promises (John 15:11) We will see this happen as we study and interact with one another.

3. We want to encourage one another in our walk with Jesus.

Encourage one another and build up each other, as you are already doing. 1 Thess. 5:11

“You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love. AND… you will find, if you think for a moment, that the people who influence you are the people who believe in you.”
Henry Drummond – The Greatest Thing in the World

4. We want to worship and honor our Lord Jesus Christ!

In worship we express our gratitude for God’s presence, power, and goodness to us! We adore him for his never-ending love towards us through songs, prayer, stories, and Scripture.

These are the reasons we come together each Sunday and want you to come and join us on this journey!

Grateful for you,
Pastor John

This Sunday, we will be having one combined nursery/KidsZone group that will meet at the NewDay office, giving adults the opportunity to spend time together during the gathering at Taco JED. Beginning next week, our usual nursery and KidsZone groups will resume (and meet at the NewDay Offices just a few doors down from Taco JED).
