Renewal In The Wilderness - Intro for 2021

In Exodus Chapter 6, Verses 5-7 God Says,

“You can be sure that I have heard the groans of the people of Israel, who are now slaves to the Egyptians. And I am well aware of my covenant with them.
“Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the Lord.
I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt.
I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment.
I will claim you as my own people,
and I will be your God.
Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you.”

NewDay Friends,

I want to invite you join along in a new series through the book of Exodus that I’ve entitled, “Renewal In the Wilderness”.
Let’s be honest… these past months have felt like a wilderness experience! The circumstances we are facing us are stretching us, challenging us, and driving us to reassess what gives our life true meaning. It’s hard to get motivated when you are in the wilderness… and that is SO understandable.

For some reason God will most often use wilderness experiences to shape us and renew us.

In Exodus chapter 6 verses 5-7 God says,

“You can be sure that I have heard the groans of the people of Israel, who are now slaves to the Egyptians. And I am well aware of my covenant with them.
“Therefore, say to the people of Israel: ‘I am the Lord.
I will free you from your oppression and will rescue you from your slavery in Egypt.
I will redeem you with a powerful arm and great acts of judgment.
I will claim you as my own people,
and I will be your God.
Then you will know that I am the Lord your God who has freed you.”

The Children of Israel learned some very valuable lessons in their wilderness journey. God was going to free from slavery and assured them that he had a plan for them IF they were willing to put their trust in Him! This will be a series of messages about their experiences in that space of uncertainty, what God was doing in them, and of course, what God may be teaching us today through it.

Grateful to be on this journey with you,
Pastor John
